Abi is a post-graduate resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology at McMaster University. She completed a dual MD-MSc program at the University of Toronto, earning a Master's of Science in Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation while completing her undergraduate medical training.
Abi's previous research includes reviews of cultural competence in, and barriers to, fertility care. Her previous work ranges from qualitative reviews of pregnancy and childbirth during incarceration to studies of the frequency of kidney stones in pregnancy and associated outcomes.
Abi is began her PhD in September 2023 where her research at PERL involves applying advanced epidemiologic methods to studying risk factors of spontaneous preterm delivery using linked, population-based datasets.
